NZ has celebrated Arbor Day since 1977 on 5 June, which is also World Environment Day

HAMILTON: Tree Planting Waiwhakareke Natural Heritage Park, Fri 2 June, 10am - 1pm
Arbor Day is celebrated in Hamilton each year with the planting of trees at the Waiwhakareke Natural Heritage Park
. As well as practical environmental education, community planting is a great way to engage through a positive action event. To register your group or for more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
CHRISTCHURCH: Planting for Arbor Day, Halswell Quarry Park, Sat 3 June, 10am – 12pm
Come join in our public planting day, to celebrate Arbor Day.
Halswell Quarry Park
planting days contribute to the restoration of native wetland swales into the park. Volunteer and have fun while doing something good for the environment. Full details available on eventfinda website
PORIRUA: Spicer Botanic Park Arbor Day Tree Planting, Sat 3 June, from 11am
Organisers would be grateful for support from local NZ Arb members at Spicer Park Porirua on Arbor Day, 5 June. Up to 50 new specimen trees will be planted by PCC Parks staff and the public from 10:30. For more information contact, Kathryn Hurr, project coordinator, 021 029 78993
