ARBORICULTURE SUPERVISOR

Hamilton’s green spaces and natural environment are a key feature of the city’s landscape.

Our City Parks team is responsible for maintaining those trees, and needs an on-the-ground leader to oversee the work across Hamilton.

As our Arboriculture Supervisor, you will manage the workflow of the Arboriculture Team to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard and on time. This role also includes overseeing the appropriate maintenance and use of machinery and equipment. You will keep the Team Leader up to speed on tree projects while also working together in leading and motivating staff.

We're after a committed and enthusiastic tree work professional with a recognised arboriculture qualification and relevant leadership experience.

It’s a tight-knit team and we need someone who works well alongside other parks professionals. You need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively with your coll eagues to meet deadlines and complete work schedules.

If you are able to work in a team environment with high expectations of behaviour this is the role for you. The start of the recruiting range for this role is from $62,000 to $64,500 per annum, and will be discussed with the successful candidate based on knowledge, skills and experience.

ARBORIST WANTED

The role includes the maintenance of established trees across the city, one-off tree removals, routine pruning and the planting of new specimens.

Our unit is a tight-knit team and we need someone who works well alongside other parks professionals. You need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively with your colleagues, and collaborate with your peers to meet deadlines and complete work schedules.

You will be responsible for project managing our Residential and Commercial Arboriculture sites / projects within the Waikato/BOP region. You are passionate about the industry and providing excellent service to your clients. You will be meeting with customers from the residential and commercial construction sectors, using your intensive industry knowledge to provide advice and quotations for tree work. From there you will manage the entire project lifecycle including setting up paper work, overseeing the site, managing the workers, health and safety and then closing the project off all whilst ensuring your client is happy with our service.

The work will require managing from start to finish so you will need to be highly dynamic with excellent people skills and initiative. You will be able to get along with everyone from the machine operators to senior business managers. We want someone with a hands on approach who isn't afraid to fit in and help out on site. This a no egos environment and a background in using the machinery and practical tree work is essential.

Further to this you will need:

  • An Arboriculture Qualification
  • Extensive Project Management Experience
  • An absolute minimum of 6-15 years experience in the industry
  • A high level of computer skills
  • Ability to assess tree safety and tree management -will be required to identify tree hazards and provide reports
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualifications

We are a progressive electricity distribution business providing high quality services to the Marlborough region and are seeking to employ an experienced qualified arborist at our Taylor Pass Depot.

The primary duties of this position include:

  • Work site organisation and supervision
  • Ensuring work site safety and proper use of equipment and PPE
  • Mentoring trainees and direct reports
  • Completion of work pack documentation

The successful applicant will have:

  • National Certificate in Horticulture (Arboriculture) Advanced Level 4
  • Preferably hold National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Utility Arborist) L3 or similar
  • Minimum of 4 years experience
  • Good communication and team leadership skills
  • Clean drivers licence, preferably to class 5.

EXPERIENCED ARBORISTS WANTED

Busy residential North Shore based tree care company seeking experienced climbing arborists to undertake all general arboricultural climbing activities. Full time positions available. Immediate start. HT license an advantage but not necessary.

Positions are also available for experienced groundsmen who will be working alongside climbing arborists. Must be competent in knowing what is required in all aspects of groundwork on sites (competent with chainsaws). Again, HT an advantage but not necessary. 

We are also looking for someone who has had previous experience operating stumpgrinding machines.

ARBORIST


Do you have a passion for trees, and making sure they are well presented and healthy? Are you after a secure job in an organisation that puts safety first? We’re looking for a qualified arborist to join our Arboriculture team, assisting with all aspects of tree care and maintenance.

If you’re a team player with initiative, good communication skills and take pride in your work then you are who we are looking for. We work closely as a team, and the wider Unit, so need someone who’s able to communicate with people from all backgrounds.

This role has a range of arboriculture responsibilities – you’ll be involved in the care and maintenance of all trees owned by the Palmerston North City Council. There’ll be tree removal and planting from time to time, along with the routine pruning of our established trees. Trees play a big part in the presentation of the city, so we need someone who’s keen to keep Palmy looking good!

You’ll have a proven track record as an arborist, with experience working with a range of plant and equipment. In return, we offer you excellent safe working conditions and a friendly and professional environment.
