Hamilton is known for its natural environment, with street and park trees an important feature of the city-scape. Our City Parks team are responsible for the physical work on those trees, and we are looking for a keen person to join our crew.

In this role you will learn how to maintain established trees across the city. We're after a committed and enthusiastic person willing to learn and become a qualified arborist.

Our unit is a tight-knit team and we are looking for someone who works well alongside others. You will also need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively. If you are able to work in a team environment with high expectations of behaviour - this is the role for you. The recruiting rate is $20.00 per hour.

In this role you will be responsible for the day to day delivery of our request for service programme, providing advice and dealing with tree requests for internal customers and Invercargill rate payers on a daily basis. You will also be actively involved in performing a variety of tree maintenance tasks including removal and planting work in and around Invercargill.

As the Senior Arborist - Customer Liaison Officer you will provide training and support on correct arboricultural techniques and practices to the Arborist team to ensure that safety is adhered to in order to protect the public, other team members, and yourself, therefore a commitment to Health and Safety is essential.

Minimum requirements for this position:
