Why to get involved

Lots of excellent ideas and feedback for the future management of kauri dieback disease were gathered in the first consultation round.  It's on the right track and these ideas are now reflected in the refreshed strategy and the National Pest Management Plan.  In these meetings they'd also like you to share your thoughts on ideas for the management agency (the organisation) that will implement the plan.

How to get involved

The second round of consultation is open from 20 August to 12 September 2018. If you can’t make a public meeting, or even if you do, you can still make a submission. The information they want your feedback on is available now on our website.

For more information about the consultations this year and to download a poster promoting them that you can share, visit www.kauridieback.co.nz/consultation. You can also email us at KauriConsultation@mpi.govt.nz if you have any questions.

Myrtle Rust Resources
Updated: 22 January 2018

An increasing number of myrtle rust cases are being reported in Auckland and around the North Island, which have the potential to have significant impacts on our amenity trees, the way we work, and what our landscape may look like in decades to come.
MPI have shared a selection of flyers with NZ Arb which they hope members will be able to distribute through our collectives networks, helping to track and manage the spread of the disease.

In particular, they would like to encourage the download and use of the App that has been designed for this to help track the progress of the disease.

NZ Arb and Husqvarna Renew Sponsorship

Written by on September 12th, 2016.      4 comments

The New Zealand Arboricultural Association (NZ Arb) is pleased to announce that Husqvarna New Zealand is continuing its sponsorship of the national arboricultural industry body.

Under the three year agreement, Husqvarna continues to be the major sponsor of the NZ Arb tree climbing regional competitions and national championship.

Seth Thompson, NZ Arb President, says the organisation is very pleased to have the ongoing support.

“Husqvarna has been an outstanding sponsor for seven years now and we’re delighted to continue our relationship,” says Seth.  “An association with an industry leader like Husqvarna provides invaluable support to our organisation and our members.  It has also helped raise the tree climbing profile in New Zealand where we have two world champions.”

Established in 1989, NZ Arb advocates and supports the protection and care of trees, and educates in all facets of arboriculture around the country.

“We are thrilled to renew our support of NZ Arb as major sponsors of the New Zealand tree climbing competition (NZ TCC) for another three years,” says Steve Middleton, Regional Sales Manager, Husqvarna New Zealand.

“The NZ TCC is the ideal platform to showcase the latest technological innovations and techniques in the industry and Husqvarna New Zealand share in the vision of the NZ Arb to encourage, improve and educate in all aspects of arboriculture throughout New Zealand.”
