Myrtle Rust Resources
Updated: 22 January 2018

An increasing number of myrtle rust cases are being reported in Auckland and around the North Island, which have the potential to have significant impacts on our amenity trees, the way we work, and what our landscape may look like in decades to come.
MPI have shared a selection of flyers with NZ Arb which they hope members will be able to distribute through our collectives networks, helping to track and manage the spread of the disease.

In particular, they would like to encourage the download and use of the App that has been designed for this to help track the progress of the disease.

Written by NZ Arb on June 13th, 2015.      0 comments

A free Kauri dieback workshop is being held for arborists and those who carry out tree work in the Auckland region. This workshop is being held on Tuesday the 28th of July at Mount Albert Memorial Hall, 7pm-8:30pm.

Auckland Council Biosecurity staff will be leading an informational session to provide professionals in the tree work industry with the latest information regarding kauri dieback (PTA) and procedures for carrying out work near to areas where Kauri are present.

New Council contract holder standard operating procedures (SOP's) and Auckland Council Unitary Plan Rules are being introduced for all tree workers in the Auckland region. Attend this session to find out what this means for you when carrying out tree work, and how to be compliant with sanitation procedures.

This session will be of importance for tree work operations who carry out work on kauri and within 30 metres of kauri trees, anywhere in the Auckland Region, and for handling of kauri plant material including branches, stem wood and stumps.

For more information visit kauridieback.co.nz or
