He angitūtanga: The opportunity

AIM Services is a leading provider of open space and full facility maintenance services, looking after Auckland's parks, sports fields, streets, community buildings, stormwater and the airport. In addition, we also offer expert arboriculture, horticultural, landscaping and plant supply services to local government and private enterprise.

As an Arborist- Leading Hand, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of AIM Arboriculture contract by performing a variety of arboricultural duties such as tree planting and aftercare maintenance, truck driving, machine operating, chainsaw and chipper use, stumpgrinder use, as well as general arboricultural groundsman activities of a manual labouring nature. You will have the opportunity to climb/or learn to climb and maintain trees if desired. As the Leading Hand, you will take a lead role in offering advice, support and direction, ensuring the site runs efficiently, and escalating any decisions or concerns to the Contract Supervisor and Service Delivery Manager as necessary.

He kōrero mōu: About you

Minimum of 2-3 years climbing experience within the Arboriculture Industry

A strong Health and Safety focus is essential

Experience in all aspects of arboriculture/horticulture/landscaping or similiar is essential

Ability to be part of a team and take the lead when required

Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. 

A clean full NZ driver's licence (manual) is desirable whilst an HT (Class 2) licence is preferred.

Your base location will be within the Auckland Region, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with rostered weekend duties and over-time as required on occasion.
