We operate with branches across New Zealand and Australia and employ over 600 people in a broad range of different roles across the country.
We are currently looking for a project management specialist who has significant and broad technical experience in amenity horticulture or grounds and facility maintenance. You will lead a skilled grounds and horticultural team that works remotely, so you'll need to have strong people management and communication skills.
In this key role, you will be responsible for the overall management of projects and effective leadership of the grounds maintenance contracts across the Upper North Island. Whilst the role focuses on the current services being delivered, you will be fundamental in forward planning and working with the wider management team to deliver service improvements and efficiencies.
You will deliver the day to day ground, facility, and pest maintenance operations to industry best practice and safe working procedures and legislation. You will plan, organise and co-ordinate the full grounds and facilities maintenance workload among a team of skilled operatives, ensuring there is a balance between planned and reactional work.

Provide ongoing training to the team to ensure that their skills and knowledge remain current, challenging, and that all breaches are reported and investigated.
You will need:
L4 Horticulture certificate or higher qualification or similar preferred.
Class 2 NZ driver's license.
Growsafe standard Certificate.
Up to date First Aid Certificate (units 6401 & 6402).
Technical and practical knowledge of complex horticultural and grounds maintenance services.
Experience in using a wide range of specialist equipment.
Managerial experience in managing a diverse team in a remote work environment.
The willingness to travel and stay overnight, as many of the sites are remote.
You will handle projects from enquiry to completion, so it's a multi-faceted position combining quoting, client liaison, assigning and managing crews, to invoicing. The ability to work independently and in a sole charge capacity is critical. You will work with your team to ensure that industry best practice and safe working procedures are followed whilst you manage the delivery of day to day ground, facility, and pest maintenance operations.
