About the Job
Christchurch has in recent times seen some massive changes to the landscape. We are a community who have had to push the boundaries and work collaboratively and cohesively to move forward as a City. As our spaces change, and new areas are created, we go through a process of understanding the lay of the land and what is required to meet the needs of the City. With this in mind, we now have an exciting opportunity for an Arboricultural Advisor to join the team.
This role will see you providing arboricultural expertise into the design and delivery of wide range of Council projects. You'll monitor and manage quality issues, and provide technical and professional advice and reports for hearings. Previous experience in a consultative environment will come in handy when you address proposals, plans and policies on behalf of the Council. Having the ability to anticipate any project issues that could arise and communicating with key stakeholders, including internal Council staff, is imperative to ensure a smooth process.
You'll be responsible for promoting innovative and sustainable design practices, ensuring added value to project outcomes. Your keen eye for detail will be put to the test as you ensure there is no adverse impact on the Council, and that quality outcomes and environmental and Tangata Whenua requirements are delivered.
To be the ideal applicant you will have the ability to foster strong working relationships, be deadline focused, and have an open door and consultative approach to your project work. We require a tertiary qualification in Arboriculture, preferably Level 6, as well as a full current driver's licence.
