Do you have a passion for trees and a love of the outdoors? Would you love to use your arboriculture skills while tending to our beautiful open spaces on the Gold Coast?
Based at our Coombabah depot, the Leading Hand Arborist is responsible for:
Leading and motivating a two-person crew to conduct arboricultural maintenance and improvements
Managing work orders and raising notifications via SAP on an iPAD
Operating and maintaining plant and equipment including trucks, chippers, elevated work platforms, saws and general arboriculture equipment.
Taking pride in your work and having passion for our City
Participating in identified training programs to increase skills and knowledge, contributing to the continual improvement of the section.
Please note that climbing is not a requirement of the position – these activities are performed by contractors.
About You
You take pride in your work and have a passion for our City and continuously improving your landscaping skills.
You have high-level customer service and communication skills, a can-do attitude, and you thrive in a team environment.
You possess a high level of motivation and adaptability, with the ability to prioritise work and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
You have a working knowledge of arboricultural practices with practical experience in tree maintenance and tree removals
You possess sound physical health in order to satisfactorily perform the physically demanding duties of the position
Requirements for the role:
Certificate III in Arboriculture(or higher) or a related discipline.
MR Class (or higher) Unrestricted Drivers Licence
WHS General Construction Induction Card (white card).
Chainsaw ticket/training
Experience leading a crew
The successful applicant will be appointed at the appropriate level based on qualifications, skills and experience between Level 5 and Level 7 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award - Operational.
