About the role

Hamilton City Council is looking for an individual to join our team.  Scheduled tree maintenance is carried out by Parks and Recreation, whether it’s in our parks, on streets, or natural areas.  We are looking for an experienced qualified Arborist to carry out all aspects of Arboriculture utilizing best practice ensuring the trees are maintained for good health, form and safety.

Skills and Experience

●  Recognised Arboriculture Qualification or relevant experience

●  A class 2 driver’s licence

●  Interpersonal skills – communication with the public and team effectiveness are a must!

●  Competent using tools of the trade

About the company

This position sits within the Parks and Recreation Unit; we are responsible for the management of all trees in the city.  We have an estimated 100,000 trees across hundreds of locations including roadside verges, parks, reserves, adjacent to sports fields and in our natural areas such as Jubilee Bush and Waiwhakareke Natural Heritage Park.


Our aim is to provide a safe, visually pleasant amenity throughout the city.
