Introduction to Tree Responses to Stimuli

Sunday 19 October

10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Location: To be confirmed

Price: $270 USD + GST (approx. $450 NZD + GST)
3-class bundle: $660 USD + GST (approx. $1100 NZD + GST)

Understanding how stimuli initiate biological, chemical, dynamic, mechanical responses.

  1. CODIT – immediate and ongoing responses/impacts - The basis of the tree wound response mechanism.

  2. Adaptation – continuing growth - The perpetual cycle of adaptation and transition through life stages.

  3. Canopy – aboveground loads and dynamics - The absorption and reduction of loading to minimise tree dysfunction/damage.

  4. Roots – belowground impacts/influences on rootzone/rhizosphere - The interface between substrate components, soil fauna and tree roots.

After completing this workshop, attendees will understand:

  • How trees respond to stimuli, and

  • How trees adapt or reorientate their growth/development and survival accordingly.
