Around 12,000 people flock to Kawerau during WoodFest, and the event – New Zealand’s premier festival celebrating all things wood – gets better every year. This year is jam-packed with entertaining activities and demonstrations, including the annual National Woodskills Competition.

This year the event will once again be motorhome-friendly, in keeping with Kawerau's status as one of the first towns in New Zealand to embrace freedom camping. Some of the town's residents work hard to encourage motorhome owners to spend a few days here, and what better time to do so than during WoodFest? There'll be plenty of motorhome parking in Kawerau for the iconic event, held in Prideaux Park.
