As part of the Community Facilities Department, you’ll be working with a diverse team of subject matter experts who are passionate about delivering tangible results for the local community and future generations. As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities while also delivering strategically significant programmes.


You’ll be joining the Regional Arboriculture and Ecological team at an exciting time as we bring in a public tree management programme, which will see you managing a portfolio of arboricultural projects – with the key focus initially being on the delivery of tree management around power lines.


He kōrero mōu: About you


We’d like to see at least a Level 4 advanced certificate in arboriculture, or similar and the demonstrated ability to provide leadership. You’ll be a natural at managing both external and internal stakeholder relationships – as relationship building and collaboration will be core to your success in this role.

Experience in delivering projects and a working knowledge of programme and project management would certainly stand you in good stead, as would good financial acumen and contract management experience.


You’ll bring with you a strong sense of personal ownership and responsibility, and as someone who thrives on taking initiative – you’ll be well organised with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively, being savvy to deal with ambiguity while making quality decisions in a dynamic challenging environment.
