We are looking for an Arborist Assistant to work alongside our Arborist, managing the arboricultural requirements of our District. You'll need to have a great work ethic, a ‘can do' attitude be passionate about working outdoors. As an Arborist Assistant, you will be assisting with tree maintenance throughout the Whakatāne District as well as participating within the Open Spaces Team on all general gardening, pruning and reserve maintenance duties.
We'll provide the support and professional development; you'll provide the skills. To be successful in this role you will:
Have knowledge and experience within the arboriculture and horticultural space
Be competent in operating small machinery including a chainsaw and weed-eater
Have knowledge of tree maintenance and management
Great communication and problem-solving skills
Full driver's license
