About the Job

Nelmac has a long and strong association with arboriculture. Working as an Arborist for Nelmac Marlborough you’ll join a dynamic and fun team that has a strong focus on delivering quality work for all our customers in the Marlborough area. We operate a well-equipped team, providing opportunities for excellent climbing challenges and training.

We are open to applications from those with a variety of experiences. This is a chance for either those who are an up-and-coming climber ready to take the next step or if you’re the most experienced of climbers!

In this full-time, permanent role, you will build on your skills and experience and be rewarded with varied and interesting work. At Nelmac we do a mixture of arboriculture work such as crown thinning reductions and lifting, dead wood removal, pollarding street trees, tree removals, cable bracing, stump removal/grinding, hedge trimming, general pruning, and line clearance work.

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience in all aspects of professional arboriculture

  • Full class 1 licence minimum, Class 2 license an advantage

  • Competence in rope & harness climbing and EWP operation

  • Relevant Utility/Power lines qualification preferred, but not essential

  • The ability to deliver safe, efficient, quality work on time and to budget

  • Accurate tree identification skills

  • A great team player with a positive attitude

  • General mechanical aptitude

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their Arboriculture career, even if you don’t have all of the above. If you have the right attitude and some enthusiasm, we’d like to hear from you. So, if you are currently using your silky skills up the wrong tree, go out on a limb and apply for this opportunity to watch your career blossom!

Please note that applicants must have a current full drivers’ license, NZ residency/citizenship or a valid NZ work visa and will be required to undergo pre-employment medical and drug screening, Ministry of Justice police checks and ACC checks.
