Hardfell Ltd is looking for an experienced Crew Leader / Senior Arborist to join our growing team.
We’re after someone who can confidently lead crews, run safe and efficient worksites, communicate well with clients and staff, and take pride in producing high-quality arboriculture work.
This role is primarily focused on leading crews on the tools, but there is also potential for the right person to assist with quoting, site visits, customer communication, and job planning as the role develops.

Hardfell is an NZARB Registered Master Arborist company, Tōtika Prequalified, and SiteWise Gold accredited.
We carry out a wide range of work across Auckland including:
Technical tree removals
Crane and hiab-assisted work
Climbing and rigging
Large pruning projects
Vegetation management
Civil and infrastructure support
Emergency storm response
Residential and commercial arboriculture

The role
The successful applicant will be expected to:
Lead and manage arborist crews
Run safe and efficient jobsites
Carry out climbing and rigging operations
Operate machinery and equipment safely
Communicate professionally with customers
Help train and mentor junior staff
Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety
There is also potential for involvement in:
Quoting and site visits
Planning and logistics
Customer communication
Operations support
What we’re looking for
Essential:
Proven arboriculture experience
Crew leading experience
Strong climbing and rigging skills
Good understanding of health & safety
Reliable and motivated attitude
Full driver licence
Ability to work well with customers and team members
Preferred but not essential:
Level 4 Arboriculture qualification
Class 2 licence
WTR endorsements
Experience quoting jobs
Crane, hiab, EWP or technical rigging experience
First aid certificate
