What does an Arborist in our industry?
Working in our Vegetation Team, you be responsible for trimming or removing vegetation and/or trees from within our network to keep our power lines clear and our community safe. You will learn to operate, prepare, and maintain a range of arborist's tools, and gain a thorough understanding of vegetation management.
We are looking for people with the attitude and drive to join and learn from our highly skilled team, to become a qualified Utility Arborist (NZQA Level 4).
You will need to have the following:
A strong commitment to ensuring the Health and Safety of yourself, your team and the public who use our network
An interest in vegetation management and arboriculture
Basic chainsaw operation qualification preferred but not essential
Some level of workplace experience
Full drivers licence
The drive and motivation to advance your career in the industry in general and in WEL in particular!
